member groups
we all belong somewhere right?
there are currently seven core member groups to choose from, so choose wisely. while these are the starting groups, groups may be added at later dates.
those born and bred inside the town. used to the strange, most even welcome it. though these hold a lot of varied peculiarities, they outwardly appear to be mostly human and can be any race, gender, or height.
the town's main source of income, poor college kids. not limited to only college kids, however, the town boasts a damn good school district that teaches children grades k-12 all in one inclusive building.
don't want to play a human? we got you covered. bleak hills is home to more than their share of weird and creepy monsters that inhabit the harbor, the forests, or the attic space you never go in because it's always so cold and why is the door locked? it only locks from the inside so that's really weird? includes demons, fauns/satyrs, etc etc etc just don't get too power crazy okay?
the ones who have bugged every inch of your home, it's the sheriff's secret police! responding to most calls for help but unable to mostly do anything about the situation, they take offense to most things and will use excessive force in every situation they are able. hand picked by the sherrif themself and only accepting applicants from long life residents of the town, they shun outsiders and work under (relative) cover.
since theres plenty of people who avoid the library, the librarians are a group of excessively violent (and mostly venomous) people with an incredible lust for knowledge. avoided like the plague they often spread to the civilians, their peculiarities are mostly physically altering and terrifying. not always, but mostly.
dead people tend to stay dead, but a lot of them die of causes that leave them with a lot of unfinished business. so here to take care of that business is their ghosts! yes ghosts wander around bleak hills and are even considered actual residents of the town, and calling an exorcist is an arrestable offense.
people who have wandered into town through some weird time dimensional rift, or to study at the school. some get lost and can never leave, some walk here purposely. the one thing that sets these aside from anyone else is that they do not have a peculiarity.
